About the role

Based in West Perth, the Financial Controller reports directly to the CFO. The position is accountable for the accounting operations of the company, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.

Key activities include: 

• Overseeing the accounting operations of multiple sites and projects, with special focus on their control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures.
• Managing and producing the company financial statements and Australian and state reporting requirements
• Coordinate and direct auditing functions
• Prepare financial information for board meetings
• Assist with the management of the Company and project cash flow
• Management of tax requirements for the company and subsidiary corporations.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, the candidate must possess at least 7 years plus of progressively responsible experience, hold a degree in related discipline (accounting, finance or commerce). Possession of a CPA/CA qualification and mining operation experience is highly desirable, especially experience with new projects, from exploration, construction to production.
