The Enterprise Architect position sits within the Information Management and Technology Department (IMTD) of the Department of Education and Training and reports in to the Lead Enterprise Architect. The role assists the Lead Enterprise Architect in the development of the architectural framework and all enterprise architecture artefacts and standards as well as acting as an operational Enterprise Architect.

The Enterprise Architect will be responsible for providing operational architecture services to the Department and to support the Lead Enterprise Architect in building the Enterprise Architecture function.

To be successful in this role you will be client focused and can be relied on for your strong influencing, diagnosing and decision making skills. Your capacity to establish and maintain productive and consultative relationships will be critical as will the ability to deliver outcomes and drive change in a complex environment.

Key responsibilities for this role are:

• Work with the Lead Enterprise Architect and a third party service provider to provide architecture services to the department
• Provide and articulate options, and facilitate adoption of the future strategy, roadmaps and architectural direction
• Develop IT strategy and plans in line with DET strategic plan
• Work with key business stakeholders to socialise, promote and implement the architectural roadmap
• Provide architectural expertise to new initiatives and when needed in the portfolio, on evaluation panels or in the conceptual phase of the project delivery lifecycle

To be able to deliver this function you will need the ability the following skills:

• Leadership experience in developing, communicating and maintaining technology architectures, ICT strategic plans and roadmaps
• Extensive experience as an enterprise architect in a complex environment
• Experience working with third party vendors who provide architecture services
• Demonstrated achievements in contributing to significant enterprise architecture projects
• Extensive experience assessing current environments and providing practical future options
• Excellent stakeholder management skills and a consultative approach
